Hello
This is Nakajima from AZSTOKE Co., Ltd.
This time we will be reporting on "The Road to SKYSQUARE - We successfully repaired a faulty excavator engine!!"
While working with the excavator, it suddenly started to have trouble starting. The starter would turn but the engine would not start... Seriously... What should I do...?
■ Background
After it stopped, I left it alone for a few days.
Since then, the engine would turn but would not start.
I had to call a repairman.
Repairs can't be done because the excavator can't be brought to the repair shop.
I need someone to come here and repair it.
If that happened, I could potentially end up paying tens of thousands of yen just for the travel expenses, so I decided that if I could fix it myself, I would be able to repair it if the same problem occurred again, and that I would call a professional if that was the case, but that I would first try to find the cause and deal with it myself.
■ Investigating the cause
The first step is to investigate the cause.
Open the engine compartment and examine it.
One possible reason would be that there wasn't enough gasoline in the first place, but that wasn't a problem.
I still had plenty of gasoline, so I thought there must have been another cause.
The next thing to consider is the fuel supply.
Open the engine compartment and inspect it. Check to see if there are any oil leaks in the engine compartment.
However, I couldn't find any signs of an oil leak.
Next, check the suspect fuel filter.
If there are impurities in the gasoline, this gasoline filter will prevent them from entering the engine by passing them through this filter. *I found this on the internet.
If there are too many impurities, gasoline will not be supplied to the engine in the first place.
It seemed like cleaning it might solve the problem, so I decided to clean it.
■ Cleaning the gasoline filter
First, switch it to OFF to cut off the gas supply.
I tried to turn the part in the picture by hand to remove the filter, but it didn't move at all.
I used a wrench.
It was quite difficult to turn, but if I could turn it even a little, I would be able to do it by hand.
I was able to solve the problem by using a wrench to turn it.
I managed to remove the filter.
There was also dirt on the outside of the filter, so I cleaned it with a cleaning spray ( parts cleaner ).
I also thoroughly cleaned the inside of the filter with a cleaning spray ( parts cleaner ).
Now that we've cleaned it up, let's fix it.
Reconnect it, tighten it firmly, and then turn it back on.
After cleaning everything, turn the key to ON before starting the engine.
This allows fuel to reach the fuel filter
With the switch turned ON, check the engine compartment to make sure gasoline is being supplied to the gasoline filter.
If you check immediately after turning it ON, you can see the fuel being supplied to the fuel filter.
---Note---
Do not start the engine until you have enough gas.
It seems like it might cause a malfunction.
Check that the fuel filter is receiving a proper supply of fuel.
Start the engine and see if it starts.
Squeak, s ...
The engine started instantly!!!
The repair was a success ! Instead of immediately calling in a professional, I looked into
It comes up quite often so I thought I'd give it a try.
The development of SKYSQUARE will continue.
PS: Lately I've been having fun looking at tools and machinery and I really want some.
After all, without the tools, there's no point in talking.
I would like to gradually collect them and be able to do various things.
I'm also starting to think that I want a light truck.
