Hello
This is Nakajima from AZSTOKE Co., Ltd.
I have finally set out to get my ninth driver's license.
This is called an "off-road vehicle license".
As the name suggests, off-road vehicles are vehicles with loose ground, and this is a special license for vehicles that can transport various items on such terrain.
When developing SkySquare, there is a lot of transportation involved.
However, within the 6,600m2 site, there are a variety of terrains, including loose ground and slopes, and various items must be transported to places that are impossible to reach by truck.
Even if the trees were cut down, cut into logs and sized to be carried by people, it would be unrealistic to transport them by hand and it seemed like the job would never get done, so I learned that professionals actually use off-road transport vehicles to do the job.
I wondered if I needed another license, but since I already had eight, I decided to pull myself together and start by going and getting my licenses.
I made a reservation through the usual Kobelco training center and went to the Ichikawa Training Center.
This time I'll be going alone.
In order to obtain an off-road vehicle license, if you hold a large special vehicle license or a construction machinery leveling license, you are exempt from the driving section, so you need to take a course that can only be taken by people who hold these licenses.
Therefore, I decided to leave the staff to their regular duties and go alone.
License list

■ Benefits of being exempt
This course is only available to those with a specific license.
This license is a large special vehicle license, and since you will be learning to drive it here, you will be exempt from the driving section.
Academic: Knowledge of the structure and operation of driving devices 4 hours
Practical skills: Driving operation 20 hours
A total of 24 hours are exempted
That's a pretty big exemption.
We recommend that you obtain this license after obtaining a large special vehicle license.
■ Day 1: 7 hours of academic studies
On the first day, you will learn about the following three subjects:
In terms of time, we pack seven hours into one day.
After 7 hours of lectures there will be an exam.
Knowledge of cargo transportation | 4 hours |
Knowledge of the mechanics required for transporting loads | 2 hours |
Related Laws and Regulations | 1 hr |
■ Day 1: Lunch is a daily bento
You can purchase a lunch bento by purchasing a ticket for the daily bento by 8:25.
So far, I have been to the Kobelco Training Center in Amagasaki and the Kobelco Training Center in Ichikawa, but at both locations there are very few restaurants around the offices, and the lunch break is a little short at 45 minutes, so it is difficult to go out by car to eat lunch.
Therefore, you can purchase a lunch ticket in advance and pick up your lunch during your lunch break.
Even if you forget to buy lunch, you can always buy cup ramen from a vending machine and eat that, so you can avoid a hopeless situation.
What's more, this bento box is only 400 yen!!! Cheap!!!
It cost 600 yen at the Kobelco Center in Amagasaki, but in Ichikawa it was only 400 yen, which was much cheaper and I thought was very economical and appreciated.
■ Day 1: Review your lecture notes before the exam
I will review my notes from the lectures carefully and prepare for the exams.
The written exam will take place after this lecture, meaning that both the written lecture and the exam will be completed on the first day.
So I go back and look at my notes and hammer them into my head.
■ Day 1: Final written exam
After 7 hours of lectures, you will be given an written exam.
I will do my best to show what I have learned so far.
It seems that the results of both tests will be communicated after the practical exam is completed, and the procedures seem to be different at the Amagasaki and Ichikawa training centers.
In Amagasaki, once the written exam is completed, the exam will be graded and the results will then be announced.
From there, you will undergo practical training in preparation for the practical exam, and Ichikawa says that the results will be announced at the same time as the practical exam.
The written exam is over so I'm heading home.
Ah, I'm tired.
It's quite tough because it uses up a lot of physical strength in one day, but it feels the same as being at school, so I think it's interesting to be able to do things I don't normally get to do.
When I went outside it was already dark.
Well then, I'll do my best in the practical exam tomorrow!!! I'm gonna get my license!!!
