Hello

This is Nakajima from AZSTOKE Co., Ltd.

In preparation for large-scale Foley recording at SKYSQUARE, it is important that the land is flat and stable so that vehicles and heavy machinery can move freely.

As the pit is still in the process of being created (I will blog about this separately), a lot of soil has taken over the land and it needs to be cleared out.

Since I have a land leveling license and a backhoe, I would like to write a blog about how I level the ground myself.

Problems with the pile of soil that arose when creating the pit

There is a lot of soil that was removed during the creation of the pit.

As a result, there were some areas where it was difficult for vehicles to pass through, and the dirt road had turned muddy.

One time, the shuttlecock got completely stuck and it took two hours to get it out...

We decided that this was not good and first we had to level the ground.

The stack was really hard...

■1-Civil engineering work: Roughly leveling the soil with a shovel🏞

We use a bulldozer to level the ground, spreading the pile of soil over the entire area.

I added soil to the whole area.

The mountains are gone and the area is now wider.

In this state, if it absorbs more water, it will turn into complete mud, and it is not suitable for leveling.

It's not enough at all.

Spread the soil roughly
It has become wider due to land leveling.

■2-Civil engineering work: The ground is further leveled using the excavator's blade.

First, the excavator's weight is used to compact the soil, and then the blade is used to straighten it out.

This job took about six hours.

It's hard work, but it helps me learn how to use a bulldozer, so I'll keep doing it.

■ 3- Civil engineering work: It's suspicious if it's just soil...

It took about two full days to get to this point, but this was the limit given the quality of the soil.

I wondered if I needed a way to compact it... so I decided to buy some new equipment.

That's the plate compactor.

I bought the HAIGE HG-CH40 😁

■ 4-Civil Engineering Work: Does a plate compactor not work on soil?

Here's the problem !!!

Plate compactors don't work on soil...

In order to get it to start, we filled it with oil and other liquids, and it was successful, so it finally reached the stage where it could be used.

However, it was surprisingly still.

Upon closer inspection, we discovered that the plate compactor must be used after crushed stone has been laid!!

Seriously?

It seemed like the plate compactor wouldn't work with soil this fluffy.

I bought it after all...

Since there was no other option, I gave up on the plate compactor for the time being and used an excavator to compact it as much as possible, and then tried to deal with it later. But as I was working with the excavator, a further problem arose...

Level the ground as much as possible

■ 5- Civil Engineering Work: Oh, it's broken!

While working, the excavator's arm was swinging and it hit and knocked over the plate compactor that we had been trying to use for compaction earlier but had been unable to use...

When I checked the situation, I found that the fuel filter had broken and was leaking fuel.

I started it up twice and it crashed immediately.

I need to get it fixed somewhere... How can I fix it?

So, we are moving forward with various problems arising.

I often learn things through failure, and I try to see this as a form of growth.

Otherwise I can't do it lol

I hope to continue taking on new challenges in the future.

So, look forward to the next blog!!
