Hello
This is Nakajima from AZSTOKE Co., Ltd.
The purpose of this
"I need crushed stone to solve the mud."
The soil leveling situation introduced in this blog turned into mud when rain or other water mixed in, causing it to become completely slushy.
[SKYSQUARE Road-013-] Building a base in SKYSQUARE - Leveling the ground is a mountain of problems -

I don't have any photos, but actually, our company car got stuck in this muddy area...it took about two hours to get out...it was a very difficult experience, covered in mud.
Given this issue, we felt that we needed to address it quickly, so we decided to take action.
A typical method for solving this problem is crushed stone.
The problem will be solved by wrapping crushed stone around the area where the mud is likely to form, but it is unclear how much space is needed.
Home improvement stores also sell crushed stone, but if you're just looking to spread it over your entire property rather than just a little bit in your garden, a home improvement store isn't practical.
It costs about 200 yen for 15kg, so 150kg would cost 2,000 yen.
Since 150kg was only a small amount and it was just on the edge of the land, I thought this was the time to put the skills I had acquired with my large vehicle license to good use, and decided to purchase it at a quarry used by people on actual civil engineering sites.
When I searched for a nearby quarry, I found a place called Koshu Crushed Stone.
I'll give them a call first.
There was a website, but I couldn't figure out whether it was available for general purchase.
I decided to call and ask.
The person in charge explained everything to me in detail and I learned that the general public can also purchase them if they pay in cash.
Since I was planning to go there soon, I decided to rent a dump truck from my usual Taiyo Construction Equipment Rental on another day to transport the crushed stone.

Try renting a 1.2 ton dump truck
We had no idea how much crushed stone we needed, but we figured that a few trips with a 2-ton dump truck would produce a considerable amount.
If I do it four times, the simple calculation comes to 8 tons, so I think this will be quite enough and I will continue.

2. To the Koshu Crushed Stone Quarry
Arrived at the quarry!!
There were many contractors' vehicles actually using the lot on their way to the site, so I was worried about whether I would be able to purchase the crushed stone safely.
It takes about an hour to get there from SKYSQUARE, so it will probably take about two hours round trip.
First, I'll go to the reception.

3. Purchase "C30" at the quarry
After discussing with the reception which size would be best, we found out that the crushed stone used in car parks and other places seems to be "C30", and since that's what the professional had recommended, we decided to ask for that.
We asked where C30 was and headed there in a truck.
*If it is your first time using the car, you can measure the amount of crushed stone by weighing it empty and then weighing it again with crushed stone inside.

4. Load the "C30" at the quarry
When you go to the designated location, a shovel loader will be waiting.
It seems that the receptionist has been in touch with them via radio. When you go ahead, the horn will sound to tell you to stop. When you stop the truck, they will pour crushed stones into the bed.

5. Weighing at the quarry and purchasing
The truck will be loaded onto a weighing scale here and the price will be determined based on the amount of crushed stone.
For the general public, cash is the only accepted payment method, so it is necessary to bring a certain amount of cash with you.
C30 costs about 1,800 yen per ton, which is far cheaper than buying it at Konan or similar!!!
Now that I've purchased it, I'll return to SKYSQUARE.

6. Place crushed stone in SKYSQUARE
Since it's a dump truck, we'll place the crushed stone here. We'll unload the stone by placing it where it will be rolled up.
Dump trucks are strong against this sort of thing and make things a lot easier.
There are limits to how much manual labor a person can perform to lower this, so you can really see the importance of each piece of equipment.

After transporting 7 or 8 tons of crushed stone
It's not enough at all...I realized that even after transporting 8 tons, it still wasn't enough at all.
I had the image of a ton being a huge amount, but this is not nearly enough.
We decided to respond again on another day.
I guess this is also an experience (*'▽')

8. Rent a 4-ton dump truck and get revenge
Last time we rented a 2-ton dump truck, but this time, learning from my mistakes last time (it wasn't enough), we decided to rent a 4-ton dump truck.
When it's 4 tons, it's quite large, so it's quite nerve-wracking.

9. Get the C30 again!!
We obtain crushed stone in the same way. It is completely different with a 4-ton dump truck.
I'm pretty used to it now.
Simply put, it is possible to extract two tonnes of crushed stone in one go, so it is possible to transport twice the amount.
We will make sure you get a safe ride back and forth so that you can get your rental fee back.

10. Place crushed stones on SKYSQUARE - Repeat
Just repeat as many times as you can.
We managed to place a lot of crushed stone.
Although I feel that it is really hard work, it is a lot of fun to be able to do more things.

11. Truck stuck...
It was getting late so I decided to head back but then I got stuck... I got completely buried in the ground and my tires started spinning.
What should I do?

12. Escape by towing with a bulldozer
This is where licenses for rigging, mobile cranes, and vehicle-mounted construction machinery leveling come into play, so we dispatch the excavator, connect the belt sling to the truck, straighten the truck's tires, and put it in neutral without the handbrake.
And then pull it with a backhoe!!!
The escape was successful.
I was really worried for a while, but I decided to think of it as a learning experience.
I will move forward.

Just by obtaining this crushing license, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge and experience.
There are many types of crushed stone, and it seems likely that they could be used as Foley components.
These are tasks that would normally be left to professionals, but I have obtained a license to do them myself, purchased a backhoe, and am now able to do more than just do them myself. Rather than leaving it all to others, I have decided to enjoy learning by exploring the knowledge that can be gained through experience.
We would like to further expand the possibilities of SKYSQUARE.
We look forward to your continued support of SKYSQUARE.
